Day 1 of the quest
1 Feb
Every day, I get up with the goal of being Superwoman. It is pretty much an unattainable goal, but nonetheless, I keep reaching for it.
“Superwoman, you say? What exactly does that mean?”… Well, have you ever met a Superwoman? She’s able to do anything and everything in the timespan of 24 hours.
I used to work with a Superwoman. I envied her. I so wished that I could be like her in the sense that she seemed to possess the ability to do anything and be anything. She was a walking picture of joy, she always had home baked goods to share with the office, she volunteered after hours, she practically ran an entire division by herself, she helped with her kids school sports (whatever season of sports it was) and she was a wife to her football coach husband and a friend to many… Though I don’t know what her private life was like, I say she was Superwoman… the Proverbs 31 woman.
So, every day, I get up with the same mission. To get it all done. To be the perfect wife. To be the perfect mom. To be the perfect…
Every day, I miss the target I’m shooting for. I suppose I get points for at least trying – LOL!
I suppose I should start looking at what I have accomplished and not focus on what I did not get done. Today, I read my bible before the kids woke up. Today, I got a shower before the kids woke me up. Today, I washed all the dirty laundry. Today, I cleaned the kitchen. Today, I vacuumed, swept and mopped all the floors. Today, I did some grocery shoppinng. Today, I made some home made banana bread. Today, I was mommy to my 3 kids. So far, for this day, I think my arrow is aiming pretty darn close to that target. I feel pretty good! Yay me!
